aren't these just absolutely gorgeous. simple, timeless, luxurious, effortless, and with a conscience. i really admire those who make the effort to conserve the environment while undergoing their business. i previously featured a pair of
timberland boat shoes which was made as ethically as possible from laces to soles. now we turn the spotlight to french shoemakers, veja.
the veja indigenos series are made with suede that is vegetable-tanned without heavy metals, while the soles are made with wild rubber from the amazon. the sneakers are then transported by boat from brazil to france. upon arrival in france, they then travel in barges along canals to the parisian suburbs. talk about low carbon emissions, the journey alone is such a wonderful story, it makes me want to take a pair home to continue it's journey with me.
