Today my friend and I went to Luxbite to have macarons! I was very excited to try the kaya toast flavour. I can't help but compare all macarons to Laduree so it is hard for any to live up to this standard haha.
We got the tea for two and chose 4 macarons, 2 desserts, 3 finger sandwiches and tea or coffee.
I got a rose isaphan and my friend got a chocolate banana tart thing. They were both great! I loved the isaphan and would def get it again.
There were only three sandwich flavours to choose from. I only ate the egg because I don't eat Vegemite in the Camembert and Vegemite one. I also don't eat anchovies so that counted out that sandwich. The egg one was good.
Now for the macarons! I tried kaya toast and salted caramel. Both were ok. Salted caramel was too firm. I tried my friend's watermelon macaron and we both agree that it tastes too artificial. She also had peach and jasmine which was just ok too. Don't we sound fussy!!
So overall the macarons are average but I would give them another go.
