A grass roots coalition called "Michigan Freedom to Work" held a news conference June 30, 2011 at several locations around the state, including Lansing, MI. Several union members and others gathered in the Capitol building to announce their new coalition and plans to push for legislation to add Michigan to the list of states that have enacted Right-to-Work laws. These laws allow workers to choose whether or not to join a union at their place of employment.

I still don't understand why forced unionization has not been ruled unconstitutional. It violates in totally any notion of freedom of association. During the recession, did you know that the top 5 states for growth were all right to work (where by law one cannot be forced to join a union)? Texas gained 750,000 jobs in the last 10 years while Michigan lost about as much. And this the drive for a right to work law here in MI is underway:
