The headlines all over the media out there ought to be along the lines of "YOU LIE!" Obama claimed that 80% of Americans are sold on his tax increase to fund government waste:

The polls show almost the exact opposite, with only 11% supported an only or mostly tax increase to solve the budget problem. But according to Gallup:

• Only/Mostly with spending cuts: 50%
• Only/Mostly with tax increases: 11%

The AP had this to say about it:

...claiming support from 8 in 10 people was a reach.

Yeah - to put it mildly. And via Instapundit:

Hi, I’m Barack Obama, and I Just Make Stats Up Out of Nothing.

He continues to make up his own facts because the media continues to let him get away with it. From a separate Insty thread:
