tilda swinton returned to front both the menswear and womenswear campaign for pringle of scotland fall winter 2010. similar to the previous season, the campaign was shot in scotland by one of my favourite photographers, ryan mcginley. much as i love tilda, i am a bit on the fence about her fronting the menswear campaign. any thoughts?

and a separate bit of trivial about above model ryan koning: he served in the army for 6 years and was deployed to iraq from october 2005 to october 2006. besides being an excellent tennis player in high school, ryan also writes instrumental pieces for movies and performs regularly at 'bitter end' and 'ella lounge' in new york city.

the next time we think models are just pretty wallflowers we should so think again.

scottish actress tilda swinton will return to front pringle of scotland's campaign for the second time. the ethereal and statuesque oscar winner will also be joined by artist douglas gordon, a turner prize winner also from scotland.

i really love pringle's sense of adventure. they staged their first ever menswear show in milan in january, and was one of my favourites of the season. i took quite a few pics and shared it on here too. their campaign casting choice is also out of the mould too: casting the androgynous but critically acclaimed actress, who will turn 50 this november. one of my favourite photographers, ryan mcginley, will also return to lens the campaign for the second time round. definitely an edgier choice for a photographer, but mcginley's pics of the harsh landscapes of scotland for their spring campaign is breath taking. and getting artist douglas gordon to front their menswear campaign is definitely unusual, but risk worth taking.

in the pic above, tilda and douglas both wore pringle of scotland's signature argyle sweaters from the fall winter 2010 menswear collection. there were edgier pieces from this collection which i really love, and wished that they wore those instead.
