last weekend during the frantic and manic boxing day sales, i managed to pick up two items from alexander mcqueen. i've decided not to go for statement pieces, but spending money on items that will give me more wear and mileage over the years. i went for the above cashmere/wool henley top, simple but beautifully made. the fabric is soft as can be. a wardrobe classic/staple, i love.

the henley top also made a "blink and you might missed it" appearance in the alexander mcqueen fall winter 2009 show.

and i might need that leather torso piece as i appear to have a saggy moob moment above. err, no really no. i also bought the navy blue shirt/sweater 2 in 1 combo piece. i love pieces like that, i actually go round collecting pieces like these. it's great for lazy days, i can put on a t-shirt underneath and head to work. again a really nice piece that will give me lots of mileage over the years.
probably overused the term, but investment pieces these really are.

my outfit for the little shopping weekend: burberry prorsum cashmere/wool khaki military knit, green polo ralph lauren shirt, cheap monday indigo denims, brown christophe lemaire shearling lined boots, purple paul smith scarf and smelling of cire trudon 'ernesto'.
