While a fascination with insects comes built into any young boy’s interests growing up, three-year-old Lance chews that up and spits it out in this adorable slightly gross YouTube video that is spreading around the web Thursday.
In the video, young Lance makes more than friends with a giant cicada (similar to a locust) after they invaded Middle Tennesseeincluding his hometown of Nashville.
After lying dormant underground for 13 years, last month, millions of cicadas woke up and invaded businesses and homes with a thunderous buzz. The insects are harmless for the most part, delivering the most damage to small plants.

a really nice short clip by swiss watchmakers raymond weil. titled "my watch my destiny", it traced the journeys of two individuals whose paths and destinies crossed. i somehow wished it would be further developed into a longer mini movie. the soundtrack is really good, and i find the whole campaign to be pretty refreshing. besides the first few fleeting seconds where the actor checked his watch, the rest are just beautiful occurrences, sending the message that it is not just a watch but a companion through life.

one shop we need in london, is probably target from the US. they do the most designer collaborations, and we can just never get it in london. last weekend saw the launch of the los angeles "william rast for target" event, and glee cast member darren criss attended in a khaki jacket from the collection.
at first i thought darren was wearing a leather jacket designed by justin timberlake and trace ayala for target, but it's actually a nylon jacket.
the nylon jacket is one of the pieces that appeared in both the men's and womenswear collections. the jacket will retail for US$49.99, will you hit it? oddly, the jacket looked better on the red carpet than on the lookbook.

designers designing for high street retailers isn't a new concept. some chose for a loud reception to herald the arrival (think lanvin for h&m), while others went for a hush hush 'for those in the know' approach. acclaimed british designer joe casely-hayford designed a capsule collection for high street retailer john lewis, they certainly took the latter route.
for the exclusive collection for john lewis, casely-hayford collaborated with several other british heritage companies like barbour, liberty and cheaney. the result is a collection of very wearable pieces, leveraging the great tailoring skills of casely-hayford with prices along john lewis' motto of 'never knowingly undersold'.
my favourite piece from the collection has to be the above 'paris' cashmere blend coat. they even named it after my favourite city, oh i heart. the coat has a detachable gillet (which you can't really see from above pic) which when zipped creates a 2 in 1 layered look which i really love. and then there's the purple upturned collar, which is just the icing on the cake.
oh i really love. i so need to try it in stores.

that is one gorgeous pair of shoes, which is absolutely perfect for work. simple, classic but not losing any of the quirky details. based on the classic english oxford shoe, the toe caps feature the unique brogue-punching technique. the amazing thing is, the upper of the shoe is made from one piece of leather only, again leveraging the craftsmanship of cheaney in northampton, a place widely regarded as the savile row for shoes.
