Pelosi said this July 1, 2010. Just over a year later, where are those jobs? Instead of more jobs, we have an economy in a tailspin: WE'RE BEING LIED TO! First Quarter GDP revised down to 0.4% from 1.9% With the unemployment rate at 9.2% 2 1/2 years after Obama promised it would never go above 8, we have fewer jobs and a buttload of more debt. With all those on the unemployment dole, shouldn't we be having an economic banana?

By Pelosi's logic, we should all quit our jobs and become unemployed artists and musicians, because you know - that would be awesome for the economy. This woman isn't qualified to sit on the local school board. She is an absolute and utter idiot and is 3rd in line for the Presidency.We are truly living in a kakistocracy where the least qualified among us are running the show. From FoxNews last year:

How about we just ditch everything else and make sure every able bodied American is unemployed then? Um - wait a minute. Isn't that precisely what Obama is doing?

Talking to reporters, the House speaker was defending a jobless benefits extension against those who say it gives recipients little incentive to work. By her reasoning, those checks are helping give somebody a job.

"It injects demand into the economy," Pelosi said, arguing that when families have money to spend it keeps the economy churning. "It creates jobs faster than almost any other initiative you can name."

Pelosi said the aid has the "double benefit" of helping those who lost their jobs and acting as a "job creator" on the side.

Good. Grief. Nancy Pelosi can be summed up in this one phrase: the wheel is spinning, but the hamster's dead. And the results are always bad.

Flashback: Whatever happened to those 400,000 jobs Pelosi promised 'almost immediately' after ObamaCare passed?

ObamaCare was signed into law March 23, 2010. It is now the end of July 2011. Nancy Pelosi promised that 400,000 jobs would be created "almost immediately" once ObamaCare was signed into law:

When Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) made her pitch for Obamacare, she claimed that the bill isn't just about health care, but that it's also about creating new jobs - 400,000 to be exact.

Unfortunately for Pelosi - and for America - it turns out that her claims are flat out wrong, and that Obamacare could kill between 120,000 and 700,000 jobs by 2019.

To get it straight from the horse's mouth, Pelosi said of Obamacare, "In its life it will create 4 million jobs, 400,000 jobs almost immediately. Jobs, again, in the health care industry but in the entrepreneurial world as well."

Pelosi's claims were based on a report by the Center for American Progress (CAP), a liberal Washington, D.C., think tank. It turns out, however, that the numbers CAP relied on to make its prediction are incorrect. A new analysis by the Beacon Hill Institute (BHI) paints quite a different picture.

According to BHI, the CAP study based its claims on the assumption that Obamacare would save $683 billion over ten years, which would create incentives for companies to create new jobs. CAP's assumptions, though, were wrong.

Since Obama is running a jobs deficit of 6 million (he promised 3.5 million new jobs with the stimulus package by 2010 but has instead lost almost 3 million), can we call this Pelosi's jobs deficit? She promised 4 million jobs with ObamaCare, 400,000 which we were supposed to see by now that did not materialize at all, and 4 million in the future while this report says 700,000 will be killed. That's almost a  5 million jobs deficit. That is like in Obama league. She must be so proud.

Meanwhile. we're seeing the results of ObamaCare: WE'RE BEING LIED TO! First Quarter GDP revised down to 0.4% from 1.9% And more specific with respect to ObamaCare (Report: Private sector job creation ground to a halt almost instantly after Obamacare passed), from The Heritage Foundation:

As the Heritage report explains, Obamacare discourages hiring in three important ways:

• Businesses with fewer than 50 workers have a strong incentive to maintain this size, which allows them to avoid the mandate to provide government-approved health coverage or face a penalty;
• Businesses with more than 50 workers will see their costs for health coverage rise—they must purchase more expensive government-approved insurance or pay a penalty; and
• Employers face considerable uncertainty about what constitutes qualifying health coverage and what it will cost. They also do not know what the health care market or their health care costs will look like in four years. This makes planning for the future difficult.

Democrats once touted that Obamacare would create jobs, but the data underscore the reality that that’s not true for the private sector. The only jobs Obamacare created were within the new agencies and layers of bureaucracy the law added to the federal government.

It used to be that government employees got those jobs specifically for the job security at the expense of wages and benefits. Today however, government employees enjoy ironclad job security in addition to higher wages, better healthcare benefits, and generous pensions far exceeding anything found in the private sector. All the while that job security is still ironclad. How much so? This much:

Federal employees' job security is so great that workers in many agencies are more likely to die of natural causes than get laid off or fired, a USA TODAY analysis finds.

Death — rather than poor performance, misconduct or layoffs — is the primary threat to job security at the Environmental Protection Agency, the Small Business Administration, the Department of Housing and Urban Development, the Office of Management and Budget and a dozen other federal operations.

The federal government fired 0.55% of its workers in the budget year that ended Sept. 30 — 11,668 employees in its 2.1 million workforce. Research shows that the private sector fires about 3% of workers annually for poor performance, says John Palguta, former research chief at the federal Merit Systems Protection Board, which handles federal firing disputes.

The 1,800-employee Federal Communications Commission and the 1,200-employee Federal Trade Commission didn't lay off or fire a single employee last year. The SBA had no layoffs, six firings and 17 deaths in its 4,000-employee workforce.

The Granholm Legacy: Michigan only state to lose green jobs

January 25 of this year was the 5-year anniversary of failed Gov Granholm's most famous proclamation. On that day in 2006 she handpicked the green energy sector as the winner and Michigan taxpayers as the loser and promised that "in 5 years, you'll be blown away:"

Since she took office, Michigan has experienced:

• A precipitous decline in the relative wealth of its residents. Since January 2003, Michigan's per-capita personal income rank among the states has dropped from 23rd to 37th. Our personal income is now $5,259 (13.1 percent) below the national average.

• A large decline in economic output as measured by state Gross Domestic Product, dropping from 26th at the start of the Granholm administration to 41st through 2008.

• A dramatic increase in unemployment. Michigan's unemployment rate leapt from 6.7 percent in January 2003 to 14.6 percent through December 2009. The state has had the highest unemployment rate in the nation for 46 consecutive months.

• Record setting out-migration. The U.S. Census Bureau reports that Michigan has lost population for the last four years in a row and was only one of two states to lose population last year. More than 87,000 people migrated from the state between July 2008 and July 2009 alone. United Van Lines — a household moving company — reports that 68 percent of all its Michigan-related traffic is outbound.

Remarkably, Michigan suffered economic decline even during the last national expansion, from 2002 through 2007.

Michigan is the only state to lose "clean economy" jobs in the past seven years, according to a report released today by the Brookings Institution Metropolitan Policy Program.

...it lost 1,596 green jobs and had a negative 0.3 percent annual growth rate of such jobs from 2003 to 2010, according to the "Sizing the Clean Economy" study.

The creation of green jobs was a priority during that seven-year period for then-Gov. Jennifer Granholm. It also coincided with Michigan's long-running recession and the deep nationwide downturn that began in 2008.

Shocker, no? Exit question: how is it that Sarah Palin is branded as incompetent and stupid even though her state is #1 on the list, but Granholm is labelled intelligent even though she has been the worst governor in the nation over the past decade? Granholm October 2009: "By next year, Michigan will have lost 1 million jobs, we need a change." Well Michigan got its change last November by giving Democrats a bloodbath not seen before in Michigan. An overwhelming Democrat House majority became an overwhelming GOP one, something unthinkable only a year ago. The Senate GOP majority is so large that the Democrat minority can literally meet in a Burger King booth. The Supreme Court got flipped to GOP control. And of course the governorship went to Rick Snyder and was an utter blowout of epic proportions. GOP control is the only positive legacy of Granholm, the failed governor.

In the weekly GOP radio and Internet address, Washington state Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers says the economy is actually creating fewer jobs month-to-month despite talk of economic recovery.

You wonder how much longer the establishment media can keep covering for Obama. Facts like this aren't being widely reported: We now have more idle men and women than at any time since the Great Depression

The Great Recession has now earned the dubious right of being compared to the Great Depression. In the face of the most stimulative fiscal and monetary policies in our history, we have experienced the loss of over 7 million jobs, wiping out every job gained since the year 2000. From the moment the Obama administration came into office, there have been no net increases in full-time jobs, only in part-time jobs. This is contrary to all previous recessions. Employers are not recalling the workers they laid off from full-time employment.

The real job losses are greater than the estimate of 7.5 million. They are closer to 10.5 million, as 3 million people have stopped looking for work. Equally troublesome is the lower labor participation rate; some 5 million jobs have vanished from manufacturing, long America's greatest strength. Just think: Total payrolls today amount to 131 million, but this figure is lower than it was at the beginning of the year 2000, even though our population has grown by nearly 30 million.

Today, over 14 million people are unemployed. We now have more idle men and women than at any time since the Great Depression. Nearly seven people in the labor pool compete for every job opening. ... We face the specter that long-term unemployment is becoming structural and not just cyclical, raising the risk that the jobless will lose their skills and become permanently unemployable.

Don't pay too much attention to the headline unemployment rate of 9.1 percent. It is scary enough, but it is a gloss on the reality. These numbers do not include the millions who have stopped looking for a job or who are working part time but would work full time if a position were available. And they count only those people who have actively applied for a job within the last four weeks.

Include those others and the real number is a nasty 16 percent. The 16 percent includes 8.5 million part-timers who want to work full time (which is double the historical norm) and those who have applied for a job within the last six months, including many of the long-term unemployed. And this 16 percent does not take into account the discouraged workers who have left the labor force. The fact is that the longer duration of six months is the more relevant testing period since the mean duration of unemployment is now 39.7 weeks, an increase from 37.1 weeks in February.

The inescapable bottom line is an unprecedented slack in the U.S. labor market. Labor's share of national income has fallen to the lowest level in modern history, down to 57.5 percent in the first quarter as compared to 59.8 percent when the so-called recovery began. This reflects not only the 7 million fewer workers but the fact that wages for part-time workers now average $19,000—less than half the median income.

Just to illustrate how insecure the labor movement is, there is nobody on strike in the United States today, according to David Rosenberg of wealth management firm Gluskin Sheff. ... The number of people who have applied for permanent disability benefits has soared. ...

UPDATE: Great News: Friday's Anemic Jobs Number Are Likely Bogus

Now for the really bad news: that 18,000 gain announced by the government yesterday isn't real.

For one thing, the number of jobs increased in June only because the Labor Department simultaneously revised downward the number of jobs that existed in this country during May. It's like moving the fences at Citi Field so the Mets players can hit more home runs. It might make Jose Reyes feel better, but it doesn't actually make him more powerful.

Without the fence-moving operation in the May employment report, the June number -- yesterday's number -- would have shown a decline of 26,000 jobs.

Then there's another problem with June's employment report. Included in the 18,000 headline number is a guesstimate that 131,000 jobs were created by newly formed -- and, therefore, invisible -- companies.

If you want to send your resume to one of these companies, don't bother. They probably don't exist, and neither do the jobs the government thinks they are creating. These figments of the imagination of the Labor Department's computers will probably disappear when the numbers are checked early next year.

Look even deeper in the June report and you'll see something else you really don't want to know. The more broadly defined U-6 unemployment rate, which includes people who are underemployed, went from 15.8 percent in May to 16.2 percent in June.

These are workers who want full-time jobs but can't find them. And the U-6 figure doesn't even include people who've given up looking for work because they believe it's hopeless.

Since this entire column is filled with bad news, I may as well give it all to you at once: The job numbers are only going to get worse in the months ahead.
