in about a month's time, i will be heading towards sunny spain for a week long beach vacation. while i have my sunnies, flip flops, hats and beach towels ready, i am still looking for beach shorts and a beach tone body. while the latter is all sold out in stores, there are a few interesting swim shorts choices which i will most probably pack for my trip.

not exactly sure if anyone's still reading at this point as sean o'pry is rather distracting in all that perfection. i love that pair of shorts, am sure him looking hot in them has nothing to do with it. £7.99 from h&m (him & me?), i will definitely pick up a pair this weekend. please let me find one in stores.

topman design "swim short project" / ph: topman

on may 23rd, topman will launch "the swim short project", hey what perfect timing! they will be collaborating with a series of designers and artistes, including bernhard willhelm, jonathan saunders, cassette playa, set designer gary card and blogger/photographer todd selby. the shorts which i am most keen on however, is the one above from in-house topman design. their design is a beige short with contrast orange drawstring and a print of an old fashioned bicycle over the front and back of the short.

i thought it's pretty cool. should i get this? £50 from topman.com from may 23rd.

paul smith "monsters" shorts / ph: paul smith

beach wear is about having fun, so i really love this "monsters" shorts from paul smith. this is a little long, a shorter version of this is available from selfridges, which i really like.

orlebar brown geometric shorts / ph: mr porter

and of course i will be bringing my new orlebar brown geometric print shorts. i can't wait to wear this to the beach! and i'll also bring my navy blue orlebar brown bulldog shorts with gold buckle. so that's two pairs sorted, i need to find another three pairs and all will be good. thing is the shorts are so light weight, might as well pack one for each day. i love the shorts above, as those are versatile enough to take me into the waters as well as drinks by the bar.

any other nice shorts you will recommend?

in celebration of the sponsorship and ongoing relationship between paul smith and the rapha condor sharp cycling team, paul smith created this short clip featuring the team training at the manchester velodrome. love the video: short, precise and beautifully shot. i love it when fashion houses venture out to the realms of sports and/or music. great partnership between paul smith the the cycling team.

these are a few of my favourite things: bling

oh i love a bit of bling, why not. yes, those alphabets cufflinks look so tacky, probably why i don't wear them. but they look good together with the rest of my cufflinks, breaks up the severity of the box and remind myself life is about having fun too.

this however is something that i wear every now and then. bought these from paul smith a while back. paul smith does the biggest, best and well priced range of cufflinks i've ever seen. i was going through a phase where i was obsessed with chained cufflinks. the chains go through the side of the cuffs, more popular in the... 80s? i absolutely love the colored stones. purple is mixed from red and blue, so technically the cufflinks go with shirts with warm or cool hues: so most shirts really.

really one of my favourite pairs.

oh yes, i'm partial to a bit of gold too ha! the pair in the middle is one of my current favourites, gold colored knotted cuffs from reiss, a birthday present from my friend last year.

my "jewellery box" ain't worth millions. doesn't matter to me. maybe one day i'll move from costume to proper jewellery.

online retailer my-wardrobe.com celebrated their 4th birthday yesterday. to celebrate, they were giving out £400 of vouchers every hour to their facebook fans. was at work all day and missed out on that, but i made sure i did not miss out on their press day later that evening to have a peek at what would be stocked come fall winter 2010.

one of the items that everyone was talking about, was the rayban wayfarers. these were reworked, and the "metal" bits on the side were actually made from 18k white gold. the limited edition sunglasses will retail for about £300+. i thought that was very very cool. if i won that £400 voucher it is going straight for these sunnies.

exclusives for fall winter included this corduroy jacket from universal works. i love the multi layering, and the corduroy is really soft to the touch.

and some of my favourite shoes from the evening:

i really really love this pair of leather and canvas sneakers from paul smith. i am so getting these when they are available online.

and a pair of delicious suede boots from grenson. i want this too...

edwin jeans is one of the labels that the e-tailer will stock come fall winter 2010. their denims are amazing, the colors so beautifully aged, i love the vintage feel.

on display was also a very soft and lightweight padded jacket from polo ralph lauren. i love the soft auburn orange, the subtle drawstring ropes and the worn out american flag on the sleeve, love. i wish winter will come sooner.
