FIFA12 Goes Street, Gets a Co-Sign from Drake & Lil Wayne
Drake, Weezy and nationally-ranked Connor Chinn in the same advert? One of these things is in no way like the other. And by that I mean one of these guys would probably get in trouble for talking publicly about guns & drugs use and calling people by the "N" word. The other two? They just get rich for doing it. The world is a funny place.

Debacle! FIFA12 Will Not Feature Every MLS Club
This is sure to bring out the pitchforks and torches from the FIFA faithful: this year's version of the finest footie game around will only feature a partial selection of MLS clubs. To say this is disappointing is an understatement; how else can Red Bull New York win the league if not for a prolonged campaign of late-night button mashing on my couch. For reals y'all, this is a straight-up outrage.
So anyone want to guess which MLS clubs will not be included in FIFA12 if this is true? I've no idea but I bet you LA, NY, Seattle, Vancouver, Portland and maybe RSL and SKC are in. After that it's a crapshoot.

Holy 90's, Virtual Reality Is Back!
I'm not an XBOX guy but if Kinect can do this I'm pretty impressed. Still, a real-life mini ball is actually cheaper and infinitely less dorky so I'll probably stick with that because this just screams Norman Nomates.

The Timbers Have Game. Or at Least a Game
What do you get when you cross Angry Birds with the Portland Timbers? Timbers Axe, the new (and free) app from the guys in green. It's no Deadball Specialist but I'm sure it's good for killing some downtime on the MAX.

Kasey Keller is a Keeper, Not a Dancer
FACT: Seattle Sounders are the least-funky team in MLS. Still, despite their lack of dancefloor swag it's pretty cool to see an MLS side in a video game advert. When was the last time we saw that? MLS Extratime 2002?

I AM PLAYR: Get Ready to Geek Out
Do you love soccer but hate your boss and/or family? If so I AM PLAYR may be just the all-consuming timesuck you need to make them hate you back. A Facebook-based game that occupies the previously uninhabited no man's land between cinema and gaming, I AM PLAYR is equal parts fantasy futbol, "Choose Your Own Adventure" and Guy Ritchie Nike advert. Looks promising...and addictive.

NSR: Forget Black Ops, Hold Out for Homefront
I know that this may be sacrilege right now with the new Call of Duty game getting everyone from Charlie Davies to Sacha Kljestan all hot and bothered right now but the shooter I am waiting for is Homefront. It doesn't drop until February but maybe that's a good thing because you'll need a minute to get used to the concept of a U.S. military-themed FPS being set completely in an occupied United States.
True, CODMW2 touched on that theme but only for a few levels. For me those were the most tense, engaging and interesting bits of the game and I think for the first time ever a video game actually got into my head; it played with my patriotic tendencies enough that I actually felt some emotional need to repel the invaders from my land. Watching this trailer above for Homefront I think I'm going to be going down that road again.
And if you've ever though "why hasn't anyone made a video game of Red Dawn?" the single player mode of this game was written by John Milius, screenwriter for Red Dawn, Apocolypse Now and The Hunt for Red October. In shortThis sh*t is going to rule.

Steve Nash x Landon Donovan x FIFA 11 (Again)
Fact: Landon Donovan is secretly Canadian. Did you know that? It's true. His father is a hockey-playing Canuckistani. Perhaps that's why he and Steve Nash work so well together, because there is some common element in the maple syrup & Molson-flavored blood that runs through their athletically comedic veins. Seriously GolTV, sign these two up for a series...I might even subscribe to you then.
