i have something called a 'regret list', which consists of a small handful of items which i passed the first time round but now totally regretting it. i don't usually do regrets or 'with hindsight', so it's really a small list. the louis vuitton monogramouflage keepall is on the list, and also the above paint splattered shoes from yves saint laurent spring summer 2008. stefano pilati, creative director at ysl, was seen with those shoes in new york a few days ago during the launch of their new fragrance: ysl l'homme libre.

i believe ballet dancer / 'black swan' actor benjamin millipied starred in this campaign. he was previously seen on the streets of new york filming scenes for the ad campaign.

i really really love the shoes. i remembered seeing the shoes at the boutiques, it was deliberately laceless and there was an elastic band on the sides to keep it fitted. especially loving that mr pilati kept his outfit simple but accessorised with the statement shoes.

olly murs, one of the uk x-factor alumni, held a concert at the london hammersmith apollo on tuesday evening. i must admit i wasn't a big fan of his music or style when he was in the competition, but fair play to him: i think he worked really hard to realise his dreams of cutting an album. and no mean feat to hold a solo concert too. for this event, olly wore the double layered top from YSL yves saint laurent.

it is also the same top that ballet dancer benjamin millipied wore two weeks back on the streets of new york, filming scenes for the upcoming YSL fragrance campaign.

i love olly's dressing here, the pairing of the dark blazer with sand colored slim fit trousers. i am beginning to think the trousers are from topman as they resemble the pair that i've got. and definitely loving the white ysl top, i would like to have one please.

i am also pretty sure he wore a pair of navy suede punched brogues from british shoe maker, grenson. but much as i love the whole ensemble, it's a little "made in chelsea" than "apollo hammersmith solo gig" if you get my drift.

i admit i am a little slow when it comes to movies: i only watched "black swan" two weeks ago on the flight out of london. i kind of regretted it, the story is so gripping and i couldn't bring myself to stop it halfway, but finishing it made for such a disturbing and uncomfortable rest of the 13 hour flight. it was such a brilliant movie, and i wished benjamin millipied had a greater starring role in it. the house of yves saint laurent must have thought so too, as they casted mr milliped, the principal dancer from the new york city ballet, as the face of the yet untitled new fragrance due out in september. coincidentally, vincent cassel who was also in black swan, is the current face of ysl's "la nuit de l'homme".

and mr millipied was pictured on the streets of new york city last week filming scenes for the new campaign, dressed no doubt in a ysl black suit, paired with a faux double layer white t/shirt. i love the top, the inside layer is sewn in to create a layered look. this is a recurring style from ysl, and i have the similar top in navy from several seasons ago.

watched sunday's academy awards? i didn't. i just browsed the net to see who wore what. of course it's definitely more interesting to see who wore what couture gowns on the red carpet, as opposed to dissecting if it should be black tux or black tux with that black bow tie. however if you've been reading my tweets on sunday night, you would have seen my pick of my best dressed men, including justin timberlake in tom ford and darren aronofsky in 3.1 phillip lim.

hot on their heels, is jeremy renner looking mighty fine in a black tux from yves saint laurent. jeremy was nominated for the best supporting actor award for his role in "the town", he certainly is one of the better dressed gents on the night.

bon weekend

it's been a very long week. manic and panics at work, feeling a little disoriented, did a little planning for the future but also managed sometime for a few drinks. it's the long weekend here, packed my yves saint laurent shoes and balenciaga sweaters into the louis vuitton graffiti keepall, it's a french escapade.

i love road trips. have a great weekend all.
