the last time we attended a voting we were so thankful to have such great supporters out there and got the first place with ease. This was an awesome chance for us to present our tunes in another area to another crowd plus beeing on an freeskiing-DVD ("Up&Down") with our track "Highway Lights". All this was an amazing experience and wouldn't have been able without your votes.

It's really hard for a band in austria to get any attention especially with ambient-based tunes like ours. This sampler would be a good chance for us to become more attention around here in our local area. Gradually the lights of the city come to new life, while the random flickering of the large neon sign three blocks away lasts and glances are lost in the distance. The sun slowly descends behind the silhouettes of the skyscrapers, taken over from the approaching night. The orange haze on the horizon is reflected in the windshields of the passing cars, raising the dust, which has been accumulated on the street. Here, between loneliness and hope, stories, which are able to change lives and guide our being exist. Soaking with melancholia Our Ceasing Voice tells these stories with their mix of hypnotic ambient and epic post-rock outburst and help the listener to catch the memories of long forgotten times, in order to save them from transience. Amidst the Tyrolean Alps the band was founded in 2006 already, but only with their debut 'steadied stars in the morphium sky EP' they drafted a journey through the mystery of gloom. Based on the upcoming novel by Sebastian Obermeir, Our Ceasing Voice's new 2011 album 'when the headline hit home' pursues this concept, while the development to a darker, more dynamic sound is clearly noticeable. Beautiful and saddening at the same time, the Austrians draw attention to fragility, passionately making one's flesh creep and thereby portraying a dramatic story full of yearning and desperation. How it will end, however, lies only in your hands.

After having listened to the debut EP of MLE[e], Walls And Other Lies, I was really looking forward to listening to their first full length release. With their mixture of alternative and indie rock, they reminded me a little bit of Bands like Placebo and Blackmail. Mixing beautiful melodies with outbursts of chaos is by far nothing new. But if it is well done, I am always on board.
After one and a half years of writing, recording and mixing, MLE[e] present 12 songs packed with emotions, amazing melodies and one can immediately sense that their songs come straight from the heart. This is a DIY production, no doubt, and a very good one, too. This makes this debut seem even more amazing.
It seems to me that Austria has to offer a lot for fans of independently produced music and this debut LP is a great addition to all that has already been presented on this Blog (Our Ceasing Voice, Doomina, etc.). This time, there is no free download, but you can by this record at iTunes for a slim 9.99€. I recommend you to do so and support these four guys from Vienna, Austria and enable them to continue making music. Peace out!

Sahara Surfers are great friends of mine and i want to thank them for being musicians of passion. It's really fun to see 'em playing a live show. Their tunes completes a broad horizon of genres and make them unique.I have many wordsto describe this release but I'm too much into this sound and too much a friend of the band to review it in an objective way. The only thing i really wan't to do here is to introduce the members of the band. Ladies first: Joul (vox): She is a very talented female singer with a stand-alone voice, fit-in lyrics and characteristic melodies.
Hans aka. HP (Bass): HP lives for the music and his basslines are carrying the tracks like on waves to the end where they seem to impact. Hans is also one of the best bassists i know personally. His side-project Home demonstrates that he's not only a mammoth bass-player but also a good singer.
Steini (drums): Steini is a drummer of Stoner Rock up to 110%. Always smiling while playing, always smiling while not playing. He's also the organizer of the great "Floiten Jam"-Festival. Respect!
Andi (guitar): Last but not Least. Andi is known for his catchy, flowing guitar-riffs, wearing a woolly hat and jamming in state of trance all day long.
Space Trip On A Paper Plane is recorded, mixed and mastered by Magasit. aka Magi. Magi also acts as drummer with HP in Home and did a remix of our latest Our Ceasing Voice single "Passenger Killed In Hit And Run" and is helping us in some mastering process.
