24hours in the style of Jude Law

jude law is a busy man of late. on monday evening, he was pictured out and about in central london. i thought he looked really good with the black jacket and denims. if the black jacket looked a little familiar: i previously featured kanye west in a very similar jacket back in february. although jude's jacket is slightly different, i believed it's from rick owens too. and i love love love his black espadrille brogues from prada. his version is stacked lower than the ones on the runway, and i believed his was the retail-put-into-production version.

but what was even more captivating, was his friend's amazing black suede/velvet slip ons from barker black. i want to know who that is!

the morning after the night before, jude was spotted at cannes airport in the exact same outfit, paired with a disappointing pair of lace-ups but redeemed with the most interesting of sunglasses choice. really loving his jacket and sunglasses.

and later that afternoon, jude emerged from his hotel in rather formal pinstriped trousers, paired with his jacket from japanese label kolor, which we previously seen him wore at heathrow airport back in january. and i am still loving those mod look sunglasses. i really need a pair of those!

jude is currently in cannes to serve as one of the jurys for the prestigious cannes film festival. i am looking forward to see what he'll be wearing for the coming days!

At Korean drama "Dream High" press launch, Bae Yong-Joon [배용준 / 裴勇俊] in Raf Simons and Park Jin-Young [박진영 / 朴軫永] in Rick Owens

at yesterday's event to publicise the new korean drama serial "dream high", several actors from the show attended the press conference, including bae yong-joon (above left) and park jin-young (above right). both were dressed in black / white, but with very different styling.

bae yong-joon [배용준] opted for a rather formal yet utterly well cut and stylish suit from raf simons fall winter 2010. the beautiful suit appeared to have snap on/off buttons as opposed to traditional round buttons that we are used to. the felt detailing added a different dimension to the suit. really loving the suit on bae yong-joon, i thought it felt age and event appropriate. really nice.

fellow cast member park jin-young [박진영] attended the event in a black lambs leather jacket from rick owens fall winter 2010, paired with very boring, unflattering and way too long black trousers. slightly perturbed why he would pair the avant garde coat with the run of the mill trousers.

great coat as it is, but i stand by my opinion that belted coats rarely flatter 99% of the male population. belted coats add bulk to the waistline, i would only suggest them to someone with a smaller waist and broader shoulders. in my opinion, the coat is doing nothing for him.

i don't usually feature female artistes on my blog, but faye wong is my long time idol and she's wearing unisex pieces so i have to make an exception. growing up, faye wong's music and movies made a big influence in my life. i am so in love with her, even though she took a multi year hiatus to make babies with another man. but she's back this year, and above were pictures of her after her comeback concert in beijing. excuse the casual outfit, she's just performed a 2hour set. see my love for her? she was spotted leaving a restaurant in a duvetica jacket as well as rick owens sneakers.

gosh i could completely emulate faye's look, i feel that much closer to her now. yes it's an unusual and nonsensical post, but i still adore her after all these years. here's a video from one of my many favourites: passenger [王菲 - 乘客]. it's in mandarin and it's a cover of swedish artiste sophie zelmani's "going home". in the opening scenes, faye wong wore the much lauded olivier theyskens designed rochas dress.

Russell Brand at "Despicable Me" London premiere in Rick Owens

i don't know what took so long, but pixar animation's dreamwork's "despicable me" is finally coming to london. at last night's film premiere, russell brand (who provided voice overs) wore a black leather jacket with an alexander mcqueen scarf, black skinny jeans paired with black boots. rather oddly, he then changed into a taupe/grey shearling jacket, and also swapped his black boots for the comfort of converse sneakers when he left the premiere.

i actually much preferred his "going home" outfit, which consisted of the shearling coat from rick owens fall winter 2010, and a beanie to keep all that greasy hair in place.
