Hugh Jackman in St. Tropez in Orlebar Brown

hugh jackman / ph: splashnews via justjared

hugh jackman was spotted in st. tropez yesterday in a pair of orlebar brown beach shorts. i think he looked amazing, the beach shorts were a great choice, really flattering. the fasteners on the sides are orlebar brown's signature, giving the shorts a tailored and stylish approach. hugh wore the "bulldog" shorts, the mid-length style which i personally prefer. top marks for hugh's beach style.

orlebar brown "bulldog" shorts in navy

you can find orlebar brown shorts online at orlebar brown, mr porter and studiohomme.

Free Dance by Vincent Chaillet

vincent chaillet, first dancer at opera de paris, improvised a "free dance" specially for parisian menswear store studiohomme. love the fluidity, it's like "black swan" with a male lead crossed with a fashion element. is he dancing in pierre hardy shoes?

Pierre Hardy Spring Summer 2011

i'm having a tote bags frame of mind lately. after yesterday's leather bag in chestnut hue, today i am loving pierre hardy's "Bag D". the bag comes in hardy's signature 3d cube print on the coated fabric, with black leather handles and shoulder strap:

really loving the shoulder strap which is always a plus, and the gold snap link is a much welcomed feature on an otherwise open top bag. and especially loving that there isn't a hard base, so the bag will sag naturally and reduce side width, which is a big plus for me.

so far so good, loving all the features, the 3d print is certainly eye catching. what would go really well with the bag? the matching ipad sleeve of course:

so dear mr jobs, please release ipad v2 as soon as possible, so that gives me the excuse to get this ipad sleeve too. the tote bag and ipad sleeve will soon be / are available online here.

l00o00ve!

Ronnie Wood at South Bank Sky Arts Awards in Mr. Hare

shhh... mr wood is telling us something. at last night's south bank arts awards in london, ronnie wood attended the event in the jazziest of jazz shoes: mr. hare fitzgerald. this is epic, or in hash terms: #mayjah! a member of the rolling stone in one of my all time favourite shoes!

mr wood wore the stunning shoes with patent toe cap and contrasting suede upper. funny how the two of them decided to go matchy matchy with their shoes.

mr. hare fitzgerald / ph: oki-ni.com

i can't find the fitzgeralds anywhere online now as these were from spring summer 2010. mr. hare shoes are available online from oki-ni.com and studiohomme.com.

previous mr. hare shoes sighting include:
- jefferson hack
- jay jopling

The team behind Studiohomme

if you have been reading this blog regularly, you would have noticed my advertiser studiohomme's banner on the right. "interview magazine" recently did a feature on studiohomme, and posted the above pic of the stylish french boys behind the online superstore. did you know that founders arnaud and sébastien both honed their skills at colette, dior homme and hermès prior to establishing studiohomme? i sure didn't! a great little read, click here for the article.

and i am so excited to see arnaud pictured above with his vintage rolex watch. when i visited studiohomme in paris last november, arnaud was wearing the same watch and i couldn't help wanting a closer look. and what a perfect time to post this pic now:

arnaud's vintage rolex air king is dated 1981, and if i remembered correctly it was a gift from his fiance. how sweet! love the champagne colored dial of his watch, of course i am biased as it is similar to my vintage rolex date just.

ahhh beautiful watches.

studiohomme will also be starting their winter sales on wednesday 12th january 2011. admittedly it's rather late as compared to other stores, but i think it's because of french laws stipulating time of sales. *i think*. which if it is true will leave me feeling puzzled, as such regulations only stifle competition and growth. but this is not the place and time for free market discussion, but the time to snoop around studiohomme to pick out items in time for their sale on wednesday. click here for your sales 'research', but hands off the pierre hardy shoes and barnabe hardy jackets, i will bite!

My new shoes: Christophe Lemaire sheep lined boots

i'm very excited about my new shoes this month. it's the pair of boots which i didn't think i need but i actually do. temperatures have plummeted in london over the past week, and all i know is my feet are very cold. without resorting to the sheer comfort (but looking ludicrous) of ugg boots or the severity of the knee high shearling lined burberry prorsum fw10 boots, these boots are the perfect shoes i am looking for.

looking like an ordinary pair of boots on the outside, but it's actually lined with sheep's fleece on the inside. i know my feet will get warm and toasty this winter. i know i will get a lot of mileage with the shoes, and it will get more rugged and amazing with age. especially exciting as the shoes are from christophe lemaire, the creative director of hermes. in a recent interview with studiohomme, christophe mentioned that he likes wearing things from his own collection, including these boots which he re-edited.

amazing, i feel closer to christophe lemaire already.

if you would like your feet warm and toasty this winter, the boots are also available online here.

love shoes i do!

An interview with Christophe Lemaire at Studiohomme

studiohomme, the very chic parisian menswear online store, interviewed quite possibly the man of the moment: mr christophe lemaire. not a lot is known about the very publicity shy lemaire, but the interview covered topics like his debut upcoming show for hermes next year, his music, his style and his favourite shoes.

and his favourite shoes are soon becoming my favourite too. will do another feature soon, meanwhile a very recommended read: the interview with the very reclusive christophe lemaire.
