VIDEO: Walk Among Us

As mentioned the other day, Seattle-based energy drink slingers Golazo have commissioned a short, short film centered on MLS fans & supporters entitled Walk Among Us. It's attractive stuff full of color, noise and (appropriately) energy. If you have 5 minutes to spare before tonight's big match give it a click; hopefully the nation sees this kind of passion tonight on ESPN2.

If you're in Seattle ahead of Saturday night's big Sounders-Timbers steel-cage death-match, you should make it a point to stop by Golazo HQ on Friday night. The footie-fixated energy drink manufacturer are throwing what looks to be a proper party under the moniker of Los Fanaticos featuring 3v3 soccer, DJ's, FIFA 11 tournaments, and complimentary (read: free for your broke/cheap/stingy ass) Golazoritas & Brougham Bitter, the bespoke brew of the ECS.

The event will also feature the debut screening of Walk Among Us, a short film commissioned by the company and focused mainly on the ECS but featuring cameos by the Timbers Army and Legion 1908. The trailer is above, the party is at 7pm. Go out and get it in.

30 Minutes in Portlandia

I won't give away the whole jawn here but Dropping Timber have a 30 minute + documentary from Portland's home opener. You should watch it. Unless you are sick to death of Portland, which I hear some people are, or you're Sounders 'til you die (or at least until you switch allegiances because the company moved you to Toledo and the Crew are the closest team).

Titi Talks American Fans in Dirty Red Bull Arena

Two things tell you that this interview was filmed in pre-season. The first is that the pitch at Red Bull Arena looks like it is ready for tractor pull. The second is that, following the "incident" in the San Jose game last week, there is NO WAY his answer about his relationship with the fans would be so bland.

Hey Look, Vancouver has Supporters Too

There's been loads of talk about the Cascadia clubs and their supporters this season but I feel like one thing has been conspicuously absent: Vancouver supporters? Those guys get ZERO attention...and when they do it's for the wrong reasons. But apparently they've gone the route of a half-dozen or so small groups instead of one large mass so maybe that's the reason for the low visibility.

So in lieu of the love afforded their counterparts in Northwest from the media, the 'Caps have taken it upon themselves to talk up their supporters. I would like to make a joke here but nothing comes to mind. Feel free to make your own.

So I'm sat in the Las Vegas airport awaiting my delayed flight home. The AO Rally was cool and if you want to hear about that go check out the day job. Met some cool people and hope to hook up with a few of them at the U.S.-Argentina match later in the month.

Now I hate to be so brief but I'm off to the Chili's-to-Go in Terminal D before I board because after 2 nights of gambling, drink, bad food and good times it's closing time. Hollatcha Vegas.

Destination Vegas

In case you didn't know I'm currently "on assignment" covering the the American Outlaws rally in America's premier hot mess, Las Vegas. With Night 1 in the books I can honestly say that when it comes to people-watching there is no place on the planet that offers more "amazing" than Las Vegas.

In less than 18 hours on the ground I've seen much of what this fine city, and America really, has to offer: multiple arrests, a Bell Biv Devoe tribute band, disgraced bachelorettes, a man in a cream suit giving me the finger and a "f*ck you" for no apparent reason and, of course, American Outlaws. And what did those guys see? A lot of His Ginger Majesty™.

Soccer + Energy Drink - Red Bull = Golazo

This kind of looks like it was a good time. Seattle-based, soccer-centric energy drink Golazo had some party somewhere with 3v3 cage soccer, bike polo and loads of young attractive people; it reminds me of college but without the drunkenness, student poverty & STD scares.

And speaking of drunkenness Golazo are one of the sponsors for the American Outlaws rally in Las Vegas on March 4th & 5th. If you've got the time, the cash, a gambling and/or stripper problem (you know who you are) and the urge to mob up with a few hundred of your fellow footie freaks I highly recommend attending. Registration ends on Friday though so get your sh*t together, will ya!

Fire fans, tell me this isn't the Dirty Version of the Section 8 vibe and that this is the Radio Edit. I've never sat in the section myself but I'm going to give y'all the benefit of the doubt that you can bring more of the funny and maybe even a little bit of the ribald than this video would imply.
